A design from drawings in made Regents and Dulwich Parks in London then developed into an embroidery and turned into a digital print . Herons are one of my favourite birds first noted wading the mud in Morecambe Bay Lancashire near where I used to live .
For the original embroidery I applied each feather separately before stitching details . The cushion has added machine embroidery and is available as a square 45/45 cms and and oblong 40/60 cms .

The beautiful Kew Gardens were the inspiration for this design with drawings made in the springtime whilst the resident peacock was in his finest plumage and displaying to whomever came along . I once lived in Silverdale on the Lancashire coast and peacocks visited my garden regularly from the next door farm , magical ! Euphorbia and Geum are the flowers of choice for this design . From a small drawing made in St James Park London I developed a large painting and an embroidery and then digitised them both to create two similar designs for cushions and canvases.
St James Park has a whole team of gardeners with the most delightful bedding plants creatively arranged. Probably one of the most visited of the Royal Parks it also has a lake and a wide range of water birds including pelicans and black swans !

Drawing at Kew has become a once weekly event in my life . I love to note the changes in growth and the variety of plants there in the beds and borders . A compilation of plant forms from one of these drawings was developed into a screen print and then digitally enhanced and printed onto cotton satin using eco friendly water based inks in the UK . Hand made in my studio it includes a hand dyed envelope back and a quality feather pad .

Silver Birch is a design developed from a screen print from drawings made of the stands of birch trees outside Tate Modern .Known by the celts as Beith (pronounced 'bay') it is the symbol of new beginnings, regeneration, hope, new dawns and the promise of what is to come. The tree carries ancient wisdom and yet appears forever young.
