Last thursday was the official opening of the BluePatch pop-up shop or Sustainable Department Store at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester with goods for sale from a selection of Blue Patch members. It is there until the 31st of March Mothers Day (could be the perfect outing !!) I shall be there on that day at the Meet the Makers event . There is a limited range of my work there but you can now buy some of my cushions online ( see my shop on this website ) and you can always email me for other work that is for sale but not yet online. Here are a few images to whet your appetite of course the thing about any hand made work it os better seen in the flesh so to speak !The Gallery is open every day from 10 til 6 with a late night opening on thursdays until 9 pm .
Experimental print at the Mary Ward Centre over the past few weeks has been challenging but at last I feel I am getting somewhere . This is last weeks intaglio of a small white egret .The second print I added colour using the chin colle process but with fabric rather than paper as I have had problems finding good quality coloured tissue papers . It has worked well . The image is from a drawing I made at the Horniman Museum’s collection of taxidermy birds and animals in Forest Hill London .
Exciting news! We’re going to be at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester from the 12th to the 31st of March for the @blue_patch Original Sustainable Department Store popup with beautiful sustainable products all made here in the UK. We look forward to seeing you!

Although it was a long time coming when Spring finally arrived it did so with a flourish ! The blossom this year has been exceptional and at Kew Gardens the avenue leading to the restored Temperate House is lined with cherry trees underplanted with tulips , absolutely beautiful ! I painted this water colour on site in the sunshine so good to be able to be outside again .Read More
For the last few weeks I have been busy in my studio working on a new design which is from a drawing at Kew Gardens (one of my favourite haunts} last spring . The background them is peonies . There is an amazing specimen bed at the edge of the walled garden with many different varieties . I was also lucky enough to watch a heron bathing in the large pond . The process has taken a lot of sampling and both a paper and fabric version are at the printers as we speak
